Pennington expects full recovery soon

While Adam Rosales offered a bit of a surprise today in the form of news that he underwent foot surgery in December and will be limited in spring, good news came from Cliff Pennington, who says he’s experienced no setbacks with his surgically repaired left shoulder. The A’s shortstop recently began taking some dry swings with the bat — first left-handed a few weeks ago and right-handed just days ago. “Everything’s going great,” he said. “I’m pretty much exactly where I should be in my rehab.” There’s no timetable yet, though, on when he’ll begin baseball activity. That’s something Pennington says he’ll figure out soon when he reports to camp and meets with the doctors and trainers. But there’s no reason not to think, he said, that he’ll be ready to go by mid-March. “We’re taking our time and trying to do it right,” he added. “Everything looks good.”
